The real tragedy behind the Michael Vick saga and similar meltdowns of the rich and famous is “what might have been”. For example, if Mister Vick spent a quarter of the time he allegedly devoted to “dog fighting” to such endeavors as organizing a USO stuffing party, or endowing an academic chair of some type, or preparing himself for his post-football life, it is fair to conclude he wouldn’t find himself in the deep trouble he now occupies. The same rationale holds true for the many troubled, high-profile celebrities (too numerous to cite here), routinely paraded before the American people. Michael Vick is just the latest.

Michael Vick and the “Rocket Docket”.
In Michael Vick on July 20, 2007 at 6:18 amIf Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is guilty of even half the transgressions cited in his recent indictment (http://media.hamptonroads.com/media/content/pilotonline/2007/07/vickindictment2.pdf) for “dog fighting”, he can’t be tried and convicted fast enough. Vick’s depravity in this instance is so grave as to make even the Romans blush, not an easy thing to do. For what it’s worth, there is more than a passing link between animal abuse and the propensity to abuse humans. Take the info in the attached link for what it’s worth: ”Animal abuse = people abuse = emotionally disturbed individual!!!!”. http://www.arkonline.com/violence.html
Let justice be done and done swiftly; three cheers for the “Rocket Docket”, the federal court in Alexandria, Virginia where Vick is scheduled to be tried. It is known for speedy trials and get down to business judges. http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0206/p03s01-usju.html
